A signature of fancy-pants restaurants since New York's Delmonico's invented it in 1876 to celebrate the acquisition of Alaska, baked Alaska will be one of the featured foods at the forthcoming New Orleans Roadfood Festival March 23-25. Just as it is improbable street eats, its purveyor is an unlikely participant in a sleeves-up food festival. The presence of legendary Antoine's (which long predates the invention of Baked Alaska) is just one more reason the Festival in New Orleans is like no other food celebration anywhere. Hope to see you there!
