We found the afikoman, and it was in our Easter baskets! We remember chocolate-covered matzo from long ago, and the dry crackers thinly coated in flavorless, waxy brown stuff did nothing but reinforce our prejudice against Passover sweets (we also HATED those jelly fruit slices). Then, yesterday morning, our Easter basket turned up these eye-opening specimens from David Bradley Chocolatier.
This one is coated in dark chocolate (we quickly consumed the milk chocolate-covered matzo). The matzos within are thin and crisp, and the chocolate is thick and rich -- we'd estimate the chocolate to cracker ratio at about 5:1. The effect is something like really good chocolate-covered pretzels or graham crackers. David Bradley Chocolatiers is located practically up the street from where we live but, as it was a gift, and it's not listed on their website, we don't know what the tab is. It's perhaps a little late for this year, but if you're interested for next year's seder (or Easter basket), check out the website and give 'em a call.
