Hallie Baker has mover her Turtle Alley chocolate shop from 91 Washington Street to 42 Rogers Street (see the Roadfood.com review). The new shop, which is almost twice as large as the old one, has been open for about two-and-a-half weeks. Turtle Alley's new open production area gives customers the chance to watch the chocolate artists in action. Another plus: unlike Washington Street, Rogers Street is bringing in lots of walkup business.

We've been enjoying our mail-order Easter delivery all week: peanut butter cups, milk and dark chocolate turtles, Fleur de Sel caramels, and something called Umbas. Umbas are coconut, caramel, and roasted almonds wrapped in milk chocolate. They're great, but the reason we ordered them is contained in the description of the candy online: "Invented during a severe fit of PMS."

1 Comments:

The chocolates from Turtle Alley really are every bit as great as people say and this is coming from a serious nut frowner. Here is hoping the increased business continues. Oh, and the new place has better parking.
