Reins
Bernie Rein, who, along with his brother Bob, and Bob's wife, Betty, founded Rein's N.Y. Style Deli in Vernon, CT 40 years ago (see the Roadfood.com review), has passed away at the age of 90. The Reins came from a New Jersey deli family, and started Rein's in Connecticut when they realized how much they missed good NYC deli. Bob died in 1988. Bob and Betty's children run the deli today.

Sorry to hear that Bernie had died. I hope the family keeps up the tradition as a lot of people including me like their food

I remember Bernie and Bob when they first opened in the Hartford Civic Center in the 1970's. It was a 24/7 operation then. The restaurant in Vernon off I-84 is a landmark! Bernie was a wonderful man and he will be missed.
