Canters Truck
Attend temple, eat a bagel with lox and a schmear. That'll be the plan beginning November 4th as the Canter's Truck, the roving edition of LA's famed Canter's Delicatessen, will be spending their Sundays, from 11:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., in the Temple Menorah parking lot in Redondo Beach. A dining area will be set up on the temple's patio. Corned beef, pastrami, bagels, matzoh ball soup, potato pancakes, and plenty more will be available.

That might be worth a drive for me. I'll have to remember to go there and report back. Thanks for the information.

When the first ex-Mrs. twinwillow and I were married in 1965, we moved to Los Angeles. Being New Yorkers, of course we made a bee-line to Canter's Deli which was not very far from where we lived in West Holywood. As New Yorkers, of course we kvetched that it wasn't like NY but soon, we learned to love it and became great fans as time passed. We loved going late in the evening when the place was packed with peace loving hippies trying to satisfy that weed need for food that takes over after one smokes a doobie (err, so they tell me). Pretty soon, Canter's became a second home for food. And, we loved it! Great lox 'n bagels, knishes, pastrami sandwhiches, matzoh ball soup, and all the Jewish food we grew up with in NYC. Thanks for the delicious memories, Cantor's.
