Johnny Ads Dog
The Shoreline Times readers have spoken, and have named Johnny Ad's of Old Saybrook (see the Roadfood.com review) the best hot dog stand, and Lenny & Joe's of Madison and Westbrook (see the Roadfood.com review) as the source for the best lobster roll at the Connecticut shore. Lenny & Joe's actually tied for the honor with the Lobster Shack of Branford. Johnny Ad's serves a grilled footlong Hummel, pictured above.

I concur about the dog at Johnny Ad's! If you order it with cheese, they split and grill it and lay the cheese in the middle to melt under a mantle of chili. Fabulous!

I always got them split and grilled. I like their lobster rolls, too.
