Two Stars for The Mecca

Mecca Roll
Reviews for the new Mecca location in Dallas keep coming in (see the Roadfood.com review). The latest, from The Dallas Morning News, gives Mecca a two star rating (out of five possible stars). Reviewer Kim Pierce pretty much liked everything except the signature cinnamon roll and chicken-fried steak. Says Kim: "The kitchen thrives on deep-fat fryers, bacon and white flour." Can't argue with that.

There is a photo of the massive cinnamon roll that feeds 50 people on their Facebook page. And it really is incredibly big!

So the 50-person roll does it with width - they just keep spiraling the dough round and round until it's big enough. Looks like it's the same height. Which means the proportions are still right, and it should taste fine.
