$300,000 is all it'll take to join the exclusive fraternity of entrepreneurs who own Roadfood restaurants. That's Dawn Welch's asking price, as she has decided to sell the historic Rock Cafe on Route 66 in Stroud, Oklahoma (see the Roadfood.com review). The Cafe opened in 1939; Dawn purchased it in 1993. Rock Cafe comes with an education: Dawn says that whoever buys it will also be schooled on the history of Route 66.

I hope whoever gets it does it justice and keep the local flavor--and flavorS!The place burned to the ground but she rebuilt nicely--lots of locals eat there regularly and tell me the food has always been consistently good and always with a strong local Okie bent--i wish the new owners well!
