Michigan natives Mike and Denise Busley were living in California but had the itch to return home. They visited the Julian Pie Company in Julian, CA (see the Roadfood.com review) and were inspired. The owners of Julian Pie trained them in pie-making for a few weeks, and then Mike and Denise returned to Michigan to found the Grand Traverse Pie Co. (see the Roadfood.com review), where they are committed to showcasing the products of their native state.
