Andy Staples of Sports Illustrated claims that not only does The Brick Pit of Mobile, AL (see the Roadfood.com review) talk smack, it backs up its boasts. He loves the pulled pork as well as the Pit's hot barbecue sauce, though he prefers Archibald's (of Northport) ribs. Read his story here.

A little surprised that the author, who sure seems to have a good knowledge of bbq, didn't care for the ribs at Brick Pit. Otherwise, I agree with everything else. Both Brick Pit and Archibald's are miles ahead of Dreamland.

Excellent article -- but thank goodness Mr. Staples is a terrible food photographer; otherwise, I'd feel that my job was in danger!

Looking forward to the Roadfood Glee Club session next week at the Brick Pit, both the BBQ and the Ambience are top-rate !
