The Mast General Store in Valle Crucis, NC (see the Roadfood.com review) has sold everything "from cradles to caskets" since 1883. They've since opened similar stores in nearby states but many folks believe that the original is still the best. The Charlotte Observer recently profiled the original Mast. Have a look here.
