This is interesting: the scruffy little Burger Joint inside the hotsy-totsy Le Parker Meridien hotel (see the review) has opened a second NYC location, at 33 West 8th Street in Greenwich Village (there's also one in Seoul, a few weeks old). We find the move odd in that a large part of the appeal of Burger Joint is the mystique and incongruity of its location. Can it work as just another burger shop? We shall see. FYI, prices on 8th Street are significantly below those in the hotel. There are plans to open more Burger Joints around the country, a la Shake Shack (why should Danny Meyer rake in all the burger profits himself?).

Nice! I think... I hear you on that, Bruce. Part of the charm is the "hidden" nature of it all. What? There's a burger joint inside THAT hotel? No way!!

I thought a large part of the appeal is that it is one fantastic burger!
