Just wanted to post (actually for the first time on here) to say that I really enjoyed meeting you all. It's nice to know that my husband (John) is not the only person around that will go to far and not-so-exotic places for a taste of a hot dog! It was alot of fun and I hope that we can do it again sometime, maybe to try a different food...My personal favorites that day were Syds and Hot Grill. I love their chili. The biggest dissapointment was Tommy's sausage. To me it was very run-of-the-mill, bland and dry. The double was loaded with onions and potatoes and one lonely pepper! What a waste...the potatoes are to die for though...I do like them a little crispier, like Charlie's but the flavoring is excellent. The most gracious host was Manny. I only got a chance to see Debbie's pics, so far. The pic of Linda & Bruce in the article was great. How about doing a pizza run, or burgers??? I'm game for that. My friend Joanne really enjoyed it too, She doesn't go online so can't post. Benzee, Coney Island Lou and Sue, you did a great job, as did John with the narrating...he lives for this people...that morning he said he was more excited than a kid at Christmas, and that it was better than Christmas, his B-Day and Father's day all rolled into one! Ah...the simple things in life that we hold near and dear lol...have a great weekend, and again, it was a pleasure....Pat

      Pat,

It was usch a pleasure to meet yourself and John . Two wonderful people . I'm up for any type of food tour you all think we could get off the ground . Any sugestions ??

I remember Mr. Phil and I were talking towards the end of the Dog Tour about the possibility of a Pizza tour around the five boroughs of NYC , and perhaps suburbs if need be.

I also visited The Papaya Hot Dog place on 72nd and Broadway on Thurs while working and thought the dogs were great . 2 dogs and papaya drink for $2.75 . No seats , counter area pretty much everything to go . Crowd out the door but service was efficient . Do not serve chili . Condiments were Kraut , mustard and cooked red onions . Got one plain aand one with mustard and kraut. Nice krisp taste . Any city tour we could add this place .

Back to the Tours , I'm up for anything except liver and onions !!!!

Once again , thanks Pat for joining the forum and thank John and yourself for making the tour such a memorable day for many people .

Hey what a great idea. Maybe the people who live in LA can do a Hot Dog tour.

          Hey Benzee,
The only thing wrong with Papaya King is that the dogs don't really seem to count as a meal. I used to spend a whole lot of time in that neighborhood, and I can't tell you how often I'd walk by and grab a dog - just a dog, not the special - and scarf it down. They're like candy.

BTW, Benzee, if you're in that area again and want a real good slice, go to the little place on Amsterdam Avenue between 79th and 80th. T & R, I think it's called. Good stuff.

            Hello Scallion 1,

You are right , even the two with a nice papaya drink did not seem like a meal , more like a snack .

I will check out the pizza place next time I'm in the area .

            Antihound ,

No reason you all can't pull off a Dog Tour like we did in Jersey . Good luck and keep us posted.
