10 Most Iconic Restaurants in America

Since we're celebrating America this weekend, I thought we should review some of the Great Iconic Restaurants that helped make American Dining Great. While most of them are a little pricey, besides Louis Lunch, I still think they qualify as Roadfood since they are one-of-a-kind eateries and have withstood the test of time and they reflect the history of American eateries. Definitely should be on the "Places to Eat Before I Die" list.

I've been to five of them, too. My five: Keens, 21, Commander's Palace, Louis Lunch, Griswold Inn.

I should have also added Lawry's Prime Rib to my list.

WJ, you never took a date to Canlis while you lived in Seattle?

Using the words "Seattle" and  "Date"  in one sentence kind of go hand in hand with "deafening silence" and "jumbo shrimp"
