123 great PICS from Western Massachusetts "meat and greet".... had a great time, Gregg ! - Fri, 05/22/09 10:21 PM ( #1 )
Hi  !!
I had a great time schmoozing and munching out at our Western Mass. "meat and greet", on May 17th, 2009, organized by Gregg.
You were an amazing host, GREGG !
I put all my Western Mass pics in a FLICKR photo album.  Here is the link for it...
I'd love to see your comments! if you see a pic/pics you like,  please feel free to add your comments right under the Flickr photo.  (and/or post your thoughts right on this thread!)
Happy Holiday weekend, everyone!

Hi Ellen, you sure get around! I just looked at the flickr pix, and the one I really got a kick of was the one with you holding a beer or soda and on the TV screen in back of you is what looks like a pastrami sandwich. Either that's an amazing coincidence or it was a great setup for a picture.

The only time I was ever in Northampton MA was in about 1981. But the downtown looks exactly like a picture I have of it from then. I love places that have not changed in xxx years.

The only place I remember eating at in Northampton back then was literally down an alleyway between two of the buildings near downtown, and it may have been an Indonesian or Iranian restarant. Neither I or my (then brand-new) wife can remember the name of the place, but maybe one of the Northampton experts can.

Thanks for posting. Wish I was there. --Ken

Hi Ken,
I was amazed when I walked into Gregg's place on Sat. night (the "night before" the meat up), and the first thing I noticed was the TV set to that PASTRAMI PIC !!!  He claims it was pure coincidence, so I have to believe him....  he said he was watching the SANDWICH PARADISE show a few days back on his DVR, and just happened to pause it on that spot.    I had thought I was really getting the  royal pastrami "set up", too...
cause he knows how much I love my pastrami !

Wish you could've been with us, too, Ken ...!
(stay tuned for my Boston pics..... soon to be on Flickr !)
(along with my "burgers in Boston" trip report!)

Maybe people don't know it's here. I'm not sure why you posted it in the "off topic" section, while there's another actual Trip report (started by you, of course) in the Trip Report section.

Maybe you can ask to have this thread moved to Trip Reports, or at least link to it on the other thread.

The pictures are great, people need to see them. Thanks for posting, as always.

Ellen - really terrific pics! What a great day of food-ing around Northampton, and you captured the feel of this beautiful college town in your pictures.  It was great meeting you - I'm still dreaming about that garlic bread at Joe's......   Terri

Hi again , Terri !
Glad to hear you looked at my pics from our adventurous day together!
It was neat the way Gregg picked our food stops, as we had a nice mixture...
1) lobster rolls/belly clams   (where I managed to find a burger on the menu!)
2) bbq
3) pizza (with that killer garlic bread!)

I enjoyed the mixture of places, even more so than when I'm on the NJ Hot Dog Tour....
cause stopping at about 5 hot dog joints gets tough!!!
