There is a place called the Dutch Kitchen on Mainstreet of Arcola. I've eaten there twice and enjoyed it both times. It features Amish home cooking type food. There is also a tourist place called Rockhome Garden's a few miles west of Arcola. I never had a chance to check it out but it is some kind of attraction with exhibits about the Amish lifestyles with a restuarant. Here is a link to it's web site: http://www.rockome.com/Html/rockome/rockome.html

I thought you'd want to know.....Rockome Gardens (and their restaurant) is only open April to October. And, by the way, Arcola is about 30 miles south of Champaign. I would think Kankakee would be the place to eat. I haven't eaten there, but with over 40 restaurants, and not many of them chains, I would expect them to have some decent roadfood. Good luck!
