0 gauge is pretty big. Good luck. If they do have them, "If they look and feel like junk, they are." Thats a lot of current to use an inferior piece.

Reese what happen to the idea of using the 2 honda eu inverter generators?...... at the cost you are spending on this battery bank plus having to recharge and then having to possibly replace the batteries after so long it seems that the honda's would have been a better go..... I'm not an expert at all but those batteries can be recharged so many times then won't they go kaput then you need to replace batteries????? not to mention the wear and tear on the inverter after so long

I would prefer to have gone with the 2 EU2000Is but I would like to have at least 6000Watt. The main reason for the switch from my large generator was so I could move to a quieter method. The Hondas would fit underneath my truck and be quieter but not produce enough watts to cover everything plus any additional items I plug in.

You are correct, I am spending more money but if this does not work, I can always use the inverter, etc. in my house. I am having solar panels put on my roof next year. Trying to go off grid. So not a waste for money for me at all.

If all fails and I need to, I will buy the Honda EU6500IS and put it on the rear of the truck. I saw the video on this unit and it seems really really quiet.

I have a toothache and did not go out today as I planned. Instead I ordered the parts from Amazon.

still cheaper than gas. I know a few ppl running on this same battery system and it's worth its weight in gold

Good find Edwmax, I would of bet against lowes but that is the correct part and lincoln is a quality brand.
Reese you will have to drill out the 5/16 to 3/8 or more to fit on the battery, I think they they are 3/8-16  threads. If you keep them , dont get a Gold plated crimp tool

Did you do the set screws on your table legs to secure them to the floor?

I used metal closet bar hanger brackets to mount the legs to the floor.

i talked to the electical enginer today. she did not know enough about the system.
                      what she did say was that she was concerned about heat and out gasing {that is how she said it}
especially the batteries at the end of the series.

That is my propane steam table. Fits perfectly over the wheel well after some cutting and leaves enough space for my sandwich prep and fridge.

I was a used unit (Commercial LP Gas Equipment Two Well Steam Table ) from acitydiscount.com. They are here in Atlanta so I went to pick it up in person but they had it listed on Ebay. The item is no longer on Ebay or on their site. I will see it there is a model number on the unit and post it later.

Look back at page 20 of my thread.

I am out in LA right now and there are food trucks that pull up everyday outside of my client's office and today there is the Flat Iron Steak truck. I saw the small Honda EU200i generator hooked up to the truck so I asked them if they run the entire truck off of the Honda. The owner said no and that he has a battery bank with 2 batteries and an inverter but he is not sure how many watts the inverter is. He is using the Honda to run the radio and some other additional items on the truck. He said it takes 8hrs to charge the batteries and he gets 6hrs of run time. Not sure what his power needs are but he says his sandwich prep and refrigerator use cold plates and stay cold for 14hrs so no power use there.

I will take a picture of the truck when I go back outside.

Reese was it difficult installing your ac unit?? Any tips?

My A/C unit went in pretty smooth. There are pictures of the install back a few pages. Just make sure you have the wire already routed in the ceiling to where the unit is going and you will need to build a square frame in the ceiling between the ceiling beams so that you have a surface to screw into.

I marked where the unit was going on the inside of the truck first using the template that came with my unit. After drawing the square that needed to be cut, I drill a small hole in each corner of the square up through the roof then when I got up on the roof I used the 4 holes as a guide to draw the square to be cut out. I used a combination of dual saw (saw with blades rotating in both directions at once) and jig saw.

Finally found a good plumber to come install my gas lines. Waiting on Ansul guy to come and hook up fire suppression.

I just purchased a 1993 Chevrolet P30. It is smaller than I wanted but a good local buy for the price and it runs great. The cargo area is only 10'10"L x 7' W x 7' H but I think I can make it work.

I am in the process of cleaning and preparing for the kitchen build and I thought I would share pictures of my progress.

I would like to post photos but I am a new member so as soon as I make 30 post, I will post pictures.

What exactly do you mean by "huge?" lol. What are the dimensions? And Do you have a rough price for what you think your system will cost you after all said and done?
For our truck being self contained, running the generator we will need for our power will cost more than ten thousand dollArs in fuel per year.. If we cAn swing a battery system that will keep us from running that thing, it will pay for itself very quickly.

                                                            Product size (L x W x H): 22.44” X 11” X 8.5”

                                                            Batteries - $700
                                                            Inverter - $730
Cables, distribution blocks, fuses, terminal connectors, shunt, battery cut off/isolation switch, etc - $250

I already have a Trimetric TM 2025-RV battery bank monitor that I purchased awhile ago for my solar panels, I will use this. I also had to purchase more square tubing and angle iron to build the battery bay.

I will try to wire up the bank as soon as I can find some 0 gauge terminal crimp style connectors before I go out of town for  business on Wednesday.
