First- We had fun. We didn't sell a lot of subs but we had fun and learned a lot. I can tell you my heart is not in subs. There was supposed to be a vendor selling dogs but they didn't show up. The event organizer said we could sell dogs next month, so next month should be better. Subs are a heavy meal and it seems like a lot of folks had already eaten before they came out. We had quite a few people ask us if we had any hotdogs so we figure they should sell.I guess we sold 20 subs and a lot of soda and water.

The town has it's own little AM station and we met a fellow who has a show every day at noon and asked us to come on and talk about our business. I told him that would be great but need time to prepare. The radio station broadcasts out of the same building the Chamber of Commerce works out of. They go hand in hand when it comes to community and supporting local business.

Anyway, next time we will be doing Chicago style dogs, we will have less waste and be able to manage our product better. Meatball subs are good but there is a lot of waste if you try to cook for large crowds and have to thaw everything out. I can steam a frozen hot dog in minutes. A frozen meatball takes a while. We had 9" sub rolls that we cut down to 6" and sold the 3" portion to kids.

Here are some pics of this evening. The hurricane and a big funeral for a city employee put a dampening on turnout. Still, we had fun.

BTW- if you guys don't like seeing a lot of pics in my threads let me know and I can stop posting them. I never really see too many pics on this board, I'm not sure if they are discouraged or allowed. It does not matter either way to me.

A coffin:

Thanks

Arnie

Keep the pics coming. Being a visual type person, I like the pics. They add so much to the story.

The cart looks great. Nice and clean. I personally love seeing the pics. I Like looking at other peoples set up and cart. We should start a thread of all pics of our carts and set up. Maybe I will start it after I snap a few shots of mine.

Great photos of a very nice town. GOOD FOR YOU! Good luck Arnie. You sure are doing something right, AND you have, IMHO one very decent attitude. That should take you a long way.

Best of wishes for your continued success!

There is a problem with your pictures as there is something you failed to do. I want to see what your Ballistic w/ mozzarella looks like.

=== I never really see too many pics on this board,====

That is a good point. I would love to see what many members serve to their customers, whether it is from a cart or within four walls.
I'm not so sure if I want to see what some members look like though.....

Gotta say that I would never put Texas and meatball subs in the same sentence, GL in your endeavors and the pics are excellent and welcome.

Keep on keepin' on. Good pics. It sometimes seems that unless you're at a State Fair, the lowest common denominator pulls the most customer. If I were there you would have sold 21 subs, that is unless you had hot links. Love sport peppers.

I am a definate fan of the pictures. I don't think we have enough of them on here. I wish they would make an actually catagory for just pictures. That way you don't have to post warnings for dialup people. Just my 2 cents.
