OK, It looks like we will be staying Friday night in Clarksdale,MS. That's a bit of a ride after dinner in Greenville, but we will be at a Pet-friendly Motel with good recommendations and on our way back to Memphis. We'll probably check in on the way down and then return after dinner. Rate was about $65 for the night. I can't complain too much.

We'll aim for the Blue and White for breakfast on Saturday.

You must check out Margaret's Blue Diamond Lounge when you're in town- I was there in 1999 and question if it'a actually still around. It was a real authentic "Juke Joint" on "the other side of the tracks" a place to hear some real "dirty-down home blues". It was an experience that I'll never forget...I was also how shall I say "the palest person there"

Dale, I don't have any room reservations for Friday night. You want to stay in Clarksdale at the place Al found?

PP do you want me to see if I can find a couple of rooms either in Greenville or Clarksdale on Priceline? If not, then I'm ok with the place that Al found.

Yeah, that works for me. I don't really have a strong preference, other than I prefer driving in the morning rather than at night.

WJ-
The Cupboard serves breakfast on Sundays from 7:00AM until noon. Having never eaten their breakfast, I can't vouch for it. And yes, by the time the rest of you get up, I will probably be on my third meal!

BB: that does not suprise me. How you can pack it in is incredible. If I do breakfast, I am done until at least noon or later. I will not be able to do Greenville but I will see you all in Memphis. Please advise me on where most will be staying. I thought about downtown but the Marriott was $154

We spoke with the owner of Doe's yesterday to set up the Friday the 13th dinner reservation. He is looking forward to our group coming in and had some kind words for his treatment by other RF folks (BB!) I made a rough count of 17 people joining us that evening,(from the info in the posts on this thread) with 5 others making it to Memphis for the activities later in the weekend. If you haven't commented on being at Doe's with the Friday group, please add a post or send me an email to give me a number to add to the reservation. We will make that number "firm" sometime in January. Thanks, AL

The official Glee Club meeting will convene Saturday morning at a yet-to-be-determined location. However, the night prior to that, I will be dining at Doe's in Greenville and would love to have others join me.

Pete, Amy & I will be flying in for this event -- to eat, meet, and cover it for a RFDigest article(s). The Greenville, MS Doe's is a bit too far with our arrival times into Little Rock, but we will dine at the Little Rock Doe's if anyone is interested in joining us...

Also, we'd love to explore the deep-fried burgers at Dyer's at some point. And for breakfast, the Bon-Ton Cafe on Monroe Ave. downtown is apparently still open. I lived in Memphis growing up in the early '70s, and my father used to take me to the Bon-Ton on Saturday mornings (his office was 2 blocks away) for a short stack of pancakes. Haven't been back since, but maybe someone else has? Chris

Chris, sorry you can't make it to Does Greenville. I was telling Al just last night that I thought you were going to be there. Well, we can compare notes on the two versions of Doe's. As for Dyer's, I know that's one of the places Sundancer is set on going back to. It's shaping up to be quite a fine weekend. Wanderingjew is coming into Nashville that Thursday. On Friday, he and I will be visiting Shiloh battleground on our way to Doe's.

I've got nothing to do with that, my ancestors were still living in

What?? Did I miss something here? Susan, if you think Dale was offended by your sense of humor, just wait until he tells you about the kinds of music I make him listen to on this road trip.

Janet is so looking forward to seeing you again Susan. You are the voice of culture and reason amongst the sounds of tearing of beef and growls and snarls of the steak-devouring males in the group. You represent a more Genteel (not Gentile!) society that we all hope to be part of in the future!

Thank you so much Mr. Al ... What a beautiful compliment darling ! I hope that I can live up to it...I must tell you that as much of a Southern gentleman as my hubby , Mr.Paul , is he must be included in the group of steak-devouring males . We are so excited about seeing everyone !
P.S.

I wish the Dining Room at Doe's had room to allow the ladies to wear their Antebellum Gowns and really represent the "Southern Belles" we know them to be !!

We are looking at a fine party that evening, and some great food in Memphis as well! Hopefully the weather will give us a break and allow all to travel in comfort.

Anybody making a list of who is or might be participating in the festivities?

Anybody got a source for Hywaiian flardy shirts?
