2014's Way-Too-Early Bus Tour Question

Hi,
Any chance we can get a hint as to what the leading candidates are for the 2014 Roadfood bus tour?  LOL I realize it is only February, but I want to start preparing myself.    I am praying for Charleston, SC on a nightly basis...

Cheers,
Danny

Well, I don't know anymore than you do Danny, but I loved the thought of doing something on the West Coast this year.  Portland was one idea that was being kicked around, as was San Diego.  Either one would be fantastic!  Of course, if we do end up in Charleston, I would be far from disappointed.

Mr. Chips is a wonderful guide to Portland. I would vote for Portland for that reason alone.

For ease, I vote San Diego. But time in Portland with mr. chips is always fun!

Hey! You stole my job. I'm the designated thread starter asking about where and when the tour will be. Although I usually wait until mid-May before posting the question. It looks like this year I will finally be in a position to be able to go. More important to me is getting the date rather then the location as soon as possible. In fairness, I think it should be in the western U.S. There hasn't been a tour out there for quite some time. Just my $.02.

    CNW,
I'll give your $0.04 if you pick San Diego!

CNW:  I am sorry I stole your job, but lol I just can not wait to find out what the destination will be   I am hoping Stephen Rushmore or Mr. Stern can at least give us the short list of candidates.

CTD:  Remember, calories do not count when you are on a Roadfood trip so this will not affect your diet one bit!

BB: Regardless of how badly I want this year's trip to be held in Charleston, Portland or any other city for that matter will be a blast.

My only concern now is the date of the 2014 trip since I have a wedding on October 4th that I can't miss.  Please please please just not that weekend " />

Okay, so after reading Cliff's Raising Arizona trip report, I think that Tucson should definitely be in play for the 2014 bus tour.  Just saying...

    lleechef,
I'm looking forward to meeting you too!  I've never been to Cincy so the crawl should be a fun weekend.

Thanks Danny!  While it certainly wasn't the reason for our trip, I do hope to make a good case for having the bus tour in Tucson someday.  It is one of the very best cities in the country for Roadfood and it would be a natural for the tour.  Just not this year!

    CNW,
Since you are the designated thread starter on the fall bus tour, do your thing.   It is almost April.  Maybe you will have better luck with a thread of your own.  Let's go Charleston!

Now that we are headed into the middle of May, time to bring this thread back.

Here are my top three choices:
    1) Charleston
    2) Los Angeles/San Diego
    3) Portland/ Oregon Coast

CTD checking in AND most likely attending...my picks...

    1. Portland, the Pacific Coast and Seattle (perhaps a 3-day 10th anniversary extravaganza)
    2. Austin and San Antonio and More Austin

That would be funny if it coincides with the week long trip that Sandra and I are taking to Seattle and Western Washington the weekend of September 26.

Cliff!  I'm thrilled your #1 choice is Charleston.

    My top three:
    1. Charleston
    2. Kansas City
    3. Portland

Regardless of where we go, the trip will be a fantastic time.  Last year's tour in Memphis and Arkansas will be tough to top though.  If possible, can we at least know what month the tour will be this year?  I'll be traveling to Poland later this year and I need to purchase my tickets soon...

P.S.  FYI CTD, this is a family friendly website.  This talk of indecent exposure aimed at Dale and his significant other will not be tolerated here.  You, sir, have been WARNED

So it is almost the middle of June...  There has to be a short list of candidates for the bus tour at this point.  Can we at least get a hint?

By the way, a confidential informant has told me that the bus tour WILL NOT be traveling to Bismarck, ND this year.  Sorry if this shatters anyone's dreams...

    Ed,
I will gladly travel through Bismarck if the bus tour visits Portland.  We could do some serious eating there!  I hope you and the Gahanna crew join us this year on the tour.
