tiki 6star The FDA notice was posted 4 days ago here in "Food Recalls". http://www.roadfood.com/Forums/tm.aspx?m=416344&mpage=2#606811 so our posts here are faster then the wire services?---nice to know Thank you. I try to keep up with it, checking the FDA and FSIS websites at least twice a day, whenever possible.

seatown76 Sorry I just saw it today online for the first time....just trying to get it out there. No big deal; you meant well. There are probably a number of Roadfooders that haven't found the Food Recall thread yet, even though I have been doing it for over two years now. Since 10 years ago I retired from 37 years in the grocery business, I have been well aware of food recalls for a very long time. (Our stores handled the Bon Vivant vichyssoise soup which was recalled for Botulism 39 years ago.) I also remember that one person died here in Peoria due to Botulism from a patty melt eaten at the Skewer Inn in Northwoods Mall 27 years ago.

I think 6star deserves Thanks for maintaining the Food Recalls thread. It is a place that not only includes USDA and FDA notices, but wire service, manufacturer, and grocery retailer reports of food recalls in advance of federal notices.

Yes, much thanks 6star! This is bad news for us raw egg lovers. :~( Anyone know how those pasteurized eggs taste? And would they be safer cooked and raw? Joe

I'm not being insensitive here but ship them to Pakistan or the Sudan, they are going to die if NO food comes their way, I'm sure they'd be willing to chanch it, I know I would. " Don't shoot all the dogs cause one has fleas"

I know some do but I do not eat raw eggs under any circumstances. Ceasar salad dressing is totally out for me. Some folks put them in a blender with other ingredients for a health breakfast. I would never do that. I am not a very good example of health eaters as I consume some alcohol, occasional smoke, some fatty foods but the thought of eating raw eggs just does not do it for me. Intestinal issues hurt immediately. Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

The recall has been expanded to include 380 million eggs (32 million cartons). Salmonella cases have been reported in AZ, CA, CO, IL, MN, NV, NC, TX & WI. Be wary of eating restaurant-made salad dressings, meringues and soups that might have undercooked egg in them! http://apnews.excite.com/article/20100819/D9HM8BL82.html

I think she has an apartment in the FDA Headquarters! Check the Forum before you post because she's always one step ahead of the masses.
