===So I got served an undercooked Pepe's pizza, huh?!? .. ..No wonder it was ready in only about 15 minutes=== ellen, Compare the photo of Sally's to the one at Pepe's. There is a difference. But I wouldn't send it back as it is still better than 99.9% of all pizzas in America. Fifteen minutes is about right for a pie when they have all cylinders firing, as the pies take less than seven minutes to cook. ===Looks like I'll have to put Foxon Park soda on my "to-do" list for next time... the way I've been eating lately, I think I need the diet version, though!=== I know that Foxon Park has some diet flavors but the beauty of their brand is that they have 'All the Sugar'. Considering all the other food in your tour, a diet soda will not help. Let me put it this way, I took my brother from California to Pepe's and he ordered a diet coke, I ordered the birch beer. He got a measly glass of fountain diet Coke, I got a big ass bottle of birch beer. He had to admit that he made the wrong choice. mark

Ellen, great pics of your trip. I just got back from that area couple of days ago. My wife had a business meeting at the hospital and I ended up spending a couple of hours downtown in SoNo. It was super cold walking around and nothing opened until noon, which didn't do me any good. I'm sure the neighborhood is a whole lot more inviting on a summer afternoon! I ended up getting out of there and over to Swanky Franks and days later, I'm finally calling it the best food of our trip. I was there at 11am, not particularly hungry, but that chili dog was particularly fantastic. Can't wait to go back. As a matter of fact, I'm putting it in my all time top 3 hot dogs too (next to Rutt's Hutt and Libby's Lunch). Swanky's is right off the highway, and now a must for me anytime I'm anywhere even close to the area.

HI Stannepa! And thanks for resurrecting my CT thread! When I first saw the "3 days of CT Roadfood" under the ACTIVE Topics, I said to myself "Sounds good! I wonder who just took a trip to Connecticut! And then I saw it was ME, (back in Aug.) I posted a lot of good HOT DOG pics on this report, which is nice for those Roadfooders who can only handle so much of my burger pics! Hey, I see you live in the SCRANTON area! Hopefully you'll get to "meat up" with fellow Roadfooder "Joe Rogo", (if you have'nt done so already) He is a great guy, and will give you the shirt off his back...

Hey Ellen, You're trip reports are like the Encyclopedia Britannica of Food. And this one was a classic. You hit all the right spots for a first timer in the CT area. Stan and I are both from the same area. We hope to "meat-up" someday at the Ooh Ooh Bird, or maybe Tony's, or maybe both. BTW, can I have my shirt back, it's cold
