4 way crossover Sun, 04/17/11 12:18 PM (permalink)
Dear Friends, I need your help.
After my 2nd heart attack and replacement valve 5 weeks ago, my truck is being retrofitted so that I can still use it once the Dr releases me in 2 more weeks. The one thing I can not find or don't know if it is even possible is a crossover valve for 4 30# LP tanks. (dont have room for 100# tanks since they are in a built in compartment). I cannot lift them anymore, thus I was hoping to have all four hooked up. I realize than I can switch over the empty pigtail to a full tank once it empties out, but since I was going this far I wanted it to be fully automatic. Is it even possible to "Y" one pigtail to two tanks, drawing from 2 at a time. Looking for safe ideas outside the box.

Suggest consulting with your area's Propane Distributor.

yes, you can draw off of two tanks at once..... in fact, in colder regions that is a normal thing to do to help keep the pressure up at the appliance, and right off hand, i dont see any reason that they pair cant be "y'd" again for a total draw off of 4......
good advice checking with the gas company, but dont forget the "hometown" fireplace and grill dealers, may get a better deal on an "exotic" system

Biz name. Mascot is a large plastic rat with buck teeth. Some will not eat due to the name. I'm retired, so my response is I DON'T CARE!!!!! :D  1 permanent trailer location plus 1 NYC cart and 1 food truck for events. Keeps me outta the MS casinos.

I thought this truck was a rat the first time I drove by it.
