7th Annual Jersey Hot Dog Tour - Sept 25th , 2010 - past trip reports

Happy New Year to all .
I realized that I have not posted about our mini meet at Coney Island Restaurant on this thread . I do believe we mentined it on the Hot Dog Forum but I will let everyone know we had a great time .
Jaime the owner / manager was on site and helped with the logisitcs of seating and personally handling our orders .

We had a great time as usual . These mini meets are a highlight of the holiday season and it always great to sit down with Roadfooders to enjoy one of the best Coney Dogs I've had . ( ask John Fox on a recent tour he loved them)

We are scheduling another one in March to coincide with CI Lous 50th birthday . This will be on a Sunday afternoon , so hope everyone can attend

Even though it's only March, it's never too early to start thinking about the Annual New Jersey Hot Dog Tour. This year's, our sixth, will be held on Saturday, September 26th. I have a few good things planned that I hope come off. One stop that was planned was Amazing Hot Dog in Bound Brook. We had been to their Verona location in 2006. It proved a popular stop. Was looking forward to visiting their Bound Brook location which was bigger and better. Unfortunately, they closed yesterday.

This is the place to post if you want to attend. Also post your comments and suggestions as to where you want to go. This is your Tour and I want to include places that you would like to visit. As always, Benzee will handle the travel arrangements. This year we will have only one bus, so reserve your place early.

John  will be handling ths locations to visit as he does every year . He does a great job with it so any suggestions just drop him a line .

We will  be traveling in one motorcoach this year , Deluxe , bathroom onboard and video screens .

Date is Sat. Sept 26th .

Every year we have had Galloping Hil Inn as a starting point  as they have excellent parking facilities and their generosity is to be commended

The cost will be determined once I get a price on the bus and we are looking at getting sponsors  this year  also .

Also we have been moved to the new  meet and greet forum  thanks to Tony Bad , excellent  idea , my compliments to the powers that be .

I've always wanted to attend one of these, especially after seeing last year's photos.  I'd love to make it, but I don't know that I can plan that far ahead.  Is it possible to put me down for one and then you could open that seat up if I was unable to make it?  Hope that's okay.

I am new to this website but have enjoyed reading about some of the great spots you have visited and would like to attend this years tour along with 3 of my co-workers.   I grew up in North plainfield and would go to Jimmy Buffs (when it was located there-crossing 22 at my own peril) often, however, I have since relocated to the Newburgh area and miss New Jerseys hot dogs terribly.  Since you will only have 1 bus this year I would hate to take the seats of your long time regulars so if you could reserve 4 seats for me and if the bus fills we can re-evaluate how we attend.  By the way Coney Island in Middletown are my favorite dogs up here.

Here is a preliminary list of attendees for the 6th Annual Jersey Hot Dog Tour on Sat. Sept 26th .
Price will be determined in a few weeks after we get a price on the bus .
We will be departing on one 55 passenger deluxe motorcoach with lavatory and video screens this year .

Celebrity guest Uncle Buck my cohost on WTBQ will once again join us for the day .
We have requested Dennis or Gary his back up as Bus Driver .
Those two are the best in the business , some of you may remember a few yrs ago Dennis manuevering the 55 pass. motorcoach through the streets of Elizabeth so we could visit tommys and Jerrys .

What will the sponsorship money go towards? Lower bus cost? Food at certain restaurants? Something else?

Hello Dave ,

We are looking into a number of options and we are open to all at this time .  We are looking at getting everyone a shirt this year at no cost and  it could go towards that with the sponsors name on it .
We are also looking at having a business sponsor our visit at one of the stops , hence no cost to the participants  at that stop .
WTBQ will be onboard as a media sponsor , getting the word out  via  on air  advertisements , interviews  , etc

Like I said any businesses that may be interested  please let us know

 Can't believe someone remember Johnny and Hanges.  I have not been to where they moved because it cannot ever compare with the one on River Street.  Has anyone thought of Libby's on the "lovely" Passaic River near the Great Falls?
