A Call for Good Thoughts and Prayers for a child

Hello All,
I don't want this to turn into a bummer thread, but
rather am asking for prayers or good thoughts for
a child, less than 1 year old, that apparently has
been abused terribly and is in a hospital.
I won't go into details, but thank God the child
is in the hospital and the police are on the case.
Yet, this child needs your prayers or good thoughts.
I pray for healing and no permanent damage, especially
to his mental development.
And his family and extended family need prayers and good thoughts.
There are many victims in child abuse.
Perhaps a prayer or good thoughts for all victims of child abuse
are in order as well as for this child.
But please pray for this boy.

My prayers too go out to all involved. 
Your words and thoughts are indeed comforting.

I am sure the doctors/nurses & police will do everything they can for this small fry.  It is amazing what the power of prayer can do.

Absolutely you have mine, FT.  Blessings on that little boy.

As the Lenten season begins, keeping in mind and prayer those who suffer is very important. I will keep such thoughts and prayers at the forefront of my mind.

Words fail me. My best wishes and prayers for him.

Hello All,
Just an update...
the little boy is doing better,YES!!
He is eating formula and his eyes
follow the doctor's flashlight when they
scan it over his area of vision.
Keep praying and having good thoughts
because ....the doctors don't know what
damages and challenges he may have
due to this brutality.  But so far, it looks good.
The cops are working hard and need
your prayers and good thoughts to
get the person  who did this.
Listen...your prayers and good thoughts
have done something.

My thoughs and prayers go out to all that is involved

I would like to THANK everyone for their continued thoughts and prayers.

Small Fry (my soon to be x wife's neice's son) was released this past week from Children's Hospital in Cincy. 

The doctors did need to go in and put a shunt in Small Fry's head to keep the fluids from building up.  He had some complications, but seem to be resolved now.  He most likely will have some developmental issues in the future, he was a sick little boy.

The abuse (at this point) seems not to have damaged his vision, he is tracking and following with his eyes.  He will be continued to be monitored though.

The good news is he has started to gain weight and is eating like a pig,  and gets down and plays with his older brother.

The better news 2  (Niece's boy friend at the time and the girl he was cheating on her with.) people have been charged with this crime. one has been arrested the other is at large. 


My family really does appreciate the thoughts and prayers offered up.  They gave us strength in a time of need.

Brother Bear, thank you for all you did also.

Oh, this is good to hear!  My prayers that he continues to improve.

Donald that is wonderful news on little Small Fry's front.  Kids are so resilient; sometimes they just amaze you with what they can bounce back from.

Hello All, and Especially My Brother Bear,
I thank God, (and that is not bland words
that I write) my heart and soul thanks God
that Small Fry is doing better.
I shall continue, and hope we all  continue
to remember him in our prayers and thoughts.
He has a hard road before him, despite the good
progress he has experienced.  We often forget
people when we hear of good news of them,
but healing is often a long process.  I don't mean
to preach, but please keep Small Fry in your prayers
and good thoughts for more than a day, or week.
And, yes, I write too long of messages, but I must
say a word about my Brother Bear, Cajunking....
I have never seen his face, heard his voice, or
had the honour to give or receive a hug from him,
but he is a SOUL I give honour to.  He is a a SOUL
that I feel good about and feel goodness from.
Donald, Small Fry is blessed you are in his life.
We Are blessed that you are in our life.

Oh my. My prayers, and those of many close to me, are with you. Abuse survivors are a strong and vibrant lot, and their prayers resonate for this child.

Incidentally, my wife just started a new position at Children's Hospital in Cincinnati. She says that the center for treating abused children is one of the most incredible things she's ever seen -- absolute state of the art, with everything centered on treating the child but not furthering the psychological trauma.
