John Kessler no longer reviews restaurants in Atlanta, since restauranteurs figured out what he looks like. He's handed the reins over to Meredith Ford. But Kessler still writes about food. And he did a neat series on the 100 dishes in Alabama you must try before you die.

I've always thought Atlanta dining was way, way overrated, and Kessler's reviews sort of backed my thinking up. In the wrap-up today, he writes that Atlanta could learn much from Alabama chefs. He said that his "snotty" Atlanta friends were poking fun at him for make the tour of Alabama. But as he said, "This state cooks." Many of these places are solid Roadfood.
