~ Ad Slogans ... The Best Ever

I just saw this list ... most are inarguable ... I wonder what you think they missed ... (errors of OMISSION and/or COMMISSION) ... some may be good, but had gotten by me. Just do it. – Nike Think Small. – Volkswagen Don’t be vague. Ask for Haig. – Haig Scotch Whiskey When you got it, flaunt it. – Braniff Airlines All the news that’s fit to print. – The New York Times Let Your Fingers Do The Walking. – Yellow Pages Wotalotigot! – Smarties It takes a licking and keeps on ticking. – Timex Where’s the beef? – Wendy’s Have it your way. – Burger King It is. Are you? – The Independent M’m! M’m! Good! – Campbell Soup The Citi Never Sleeps – Citi Bank When it absolutely, positively has to be there overnight. – Federal Express Hand built by robots. – Fiat Strada When you care enough to send the very best. – Hallmark I think, therefore IBM. – IBM Grace… space… pace. – Jaguar Got Milk? – Milk Think different. – Apple Macintosh The quick picker upper. – Bounty Capitalist Tool. – Forbes Beanz meanz Heinz. – Heinz Baked Beans Have a break. Have a Kit-Kat. – Kit Kat When it rains, it pours! – Morton Salt The ones I emboldened I have to agree with. Funny ... being in the ad racket myself, I was amused for years by people who touted the deodorant slogan "Never Let Them See You Sweat" as the best ever ... problem is almost nobody could remember (without Google) who (what brand) that slogan was for.

"The quality goes in before the name goes on": Zenith Televisions. (progenitor of many risque jokes) "Fly me!": National Airlines stewardesses. (Back when stewardi were HOT, damn right!). "(ding): You are now free to fly about the country": Southwest Airlines. Very effective slogan, IMHO.

A little background on Red's Tamales...the slogan was coined by Bruce (Sir) Sedley in 1963 while working at an ad agency in Orinda, CA, and voiced by Mel Blanc... Another Bay Area eatery was Chicken Delight..." Don't cook tonight, call Chicken Delight" and they had a VW with a chicken on it as their delivery vehicle... Founded in 1952 in Illinois they had over 1,000 franchises in the 1960's nationwide. eventually sold to a company out of Winnipeg, Canada

Chicken Delight was a chain with around 1,000 stores around the country. Now, it's a Canadian company, with some stores still in the New York area.

"I'm Chiquita the Banana and I've come to say.......' Chances are, you can sing, or at least hum, a few bars of the famous Chiquita Banana jingle. The song first hit the airwaves in 1944 when Miss Chiquita made her debut. It was written to help teach Americans how to ripen and use bananas, which were, at the time, an exotic tropical fruit. At its peak, the jingle was played 376 times a day on radio stations across the United States. It was one of the most successful commercial jingles of all time.
