Joe Kirkpatrick lost his beloved wife on Jan.1st.She was 53 years old.Someone gone way too soon.

Yes, it's a terrible thing. And it is going to be very difficult for him. I hope his friends here, and everywhere else, will rally to his side.

We are among the few Roadfooders lucky enough to have shared a fun evening and fine seafood dinner with Joe and Rinda at Ft Rucker, AL a couple of years ago. Cajun King and IQ Diva and her husband, Paul, were there also.  Our hearts go out to Joe, he is a fine gentleman, and his loss  of a wonderful life-partner is indeed a tragedy.

Joe, I am so sorry for your loss.  Those of us that have had the experience of losing a loved one knows exactly how you feel.  You go through a period of complete loss and you are not sure how to react.
 
My personal experience left me in a alcohol daze for about six months.  I worked my way out of that when I realized that the proper solution was not a crutch and I had to get along with the rest of my life.
 
I am sure that you will do much better than myself.  I wish I had the experince of dining with you and Al but somehow I missed that trip.  I think I was in the same town the exact night you had dinner with Al.

Oh, man, I'm sorry. Joe, please accept my condolences.

Thank you all for your kind words.  Believe it or not this is the first time I have seen this...  While I indeed mourned the loss of my Rinda, time since then has shown me that God DID had a plan for me and another who I met soon after Rinda's passing.  She had a similar experience such as I did but a while before me.  I am so happy to say that now me and my new love, Darlene, have the rest of our lives together.
 

Congratulations, Joe. We are very pleased to read of your recovery.  Jan and I hope we can meet with you and your new companion sometime this winter, somewhere along the Gulf Shore, when we take a winter break !!
