We're always glad to see that Jane and Michael enjoy their Milwaukee stops. Jake's is one of my favorite restaurants and their pastrami is my personal favorite sandwich. Out of towners should know that they close weekdays by 4:30 and sometimes run out earlier on Saturdays. It's a classic inner-city Jewish deli that attracts customers interested only in the common denominator of great food.
Here's a tip. If you also want a sandwich to go, wait until you're paying for your table service and you'll get your sandwich made on the spot; otherwise the to-go line can be somewhat long.

If Jake's is not roadfood, there ain't no such thing as roadfood!

I recoginize that I have not had as many sandwiches as many of you but Jakes is the best corned beef I have ever had.

Very strange place but very very good.

I drove by there last Saturday afternnon and they had already closed the shop.

A Chicago boy's sandwich dream come true. Jakes's corned beef and a Dr. Browns. It doesn't get any better than this!
