Advice sought on EZ-Up Tent

I'm going to start doing the thin sliced homemade potato chip thing very soon. I'm just interested in doing one-day affairs a couple of times a month. EZ-Up has three grades of canopies. I know I don't need the heavy-duty. Has anyone used or compared in person the light-weight and medium weight canopies? There's $100 difference in price. I don't want to skimp but no need spending more than needed either. Thanks for any and all help, advice, input, etc. This is a great place to learn things. I was a manager for Shoney's and McDonalds for eight years but I learn something just about everytime I check the forums. Al in Tennessee

I have a First-Up canopy that I bought from Walmart for under 100 bucks. I am very pleased with it and have done my share of events in some bad weather. I have had some EZups but this has lasted longer. Then again, I now know how to put one up in about 10 seconds compared to 20 minutes of kicking and throwing the thing like before. Now Walmart sells add-on sidewalls and a cool tubular lighting deal that wraps around the inside. It looks really cool.

Simple way to anchor the quick fold up tents. Take a length of large pvc pipe and cut into sections. Drill a hole across one end for eyebolts. Cap one end and fill with sand. Put eyebolts into the holes and cap. A length of rope can be used to hang the pipe from each leg. The amount of weight can be obtained by the diameter and length. RJF

Another way to anchor is get 4 - 5 or 6 gallon water cans from walmart and fill with water. Then bungee around each leg. Works great and never had a problem

I have had bad experiences with concrete blocks. Had them where I could srew the leg of the tent into the block. The wind lifted the tent and it bent the leg under from the weight of the block. I threw mine away after that. Been using water cans for years and never had an incident

Hi Al, I started with a knock off EZ UP type of canopy which lasted 6 months, High winds will kill them. I would have replaced it with another cheap one if I didn't graduate to a trailer. But make shure it is a 10x10 because most events give you only a 10x10 site for a specific amount of Dollars. Later CBB in PA

Forget the real cheap ones and get the $190+ ones from Sam's Club. Better quality and then come with a banner area and sides.

Costco is also a good source, when they have them in their inventory.
