Allen Brother's Chicao style hotdogs

I (along with two others at my firm) are going to order the AllenBrothers hotdog this comming week (along with 4 1.5" prime strip steaks). My question is twofold: 1) Is the hotdog in question good? (I believe its made by Flukys) 2) Is it normal to keep talking about hotdogs at meetings and first dates? Friends are starting to worry. Rob

I never had the dog, but I suspect that it is good. It's made by Klements, a popular sausage maker from Milwaukee, also home of Usinger's. Some Fluky's use Vienna, while others use the Klements dog. CSD might know more about this. It is normal to keep talking about hot dogs at meetings and first dates. My wife took me to a hot dog stand on our first date. I had never been there before, so we spent some time talking about it, it's history, and the dogs. Thank your friends for their concern, and if they continue to worry, find new friends.

Howdy CSD, I haven't been down to Western and Pratt recently, so I haven't seen it with my own eyes, but I read that the Western Avenue Fluky's location had been sold and the name changed. Any verification or further information? Also, regarding their using Vienna products at that location; I seem to recall the conspicuous removal, several years ago, of the Vienna signage that was once mounted just below the big "Fluky's" sign out in the front of the parking lot, signalling the end of the Fluky's/Vienna relationship. Did I imagine that? Buddy

Buddy, In February of 2006, eight years after Larry & Andee Estes purchased Fluky's from Abe Drexler, it was closed and re-opened as "U Lucky Dawg." Still serving Vienna Beef products. CSD

Rob Go to your local grocer and purchase the Klement's Chicago Style Hot Dogs. Klement's produces the Fluky brand retail hot dog, which are sold by Allen Brothers. CSD

Tort... It's fine to talk about Hot Dogs at meetings.. It's an All American deal... If someone there looks at you strange, you have the right to wonder if they're worthy.. Could be a spy from overseas trying to capture your company secrets. If you have doubts, make them eat a half a dozen dogs from your local stand... If they walk away with a smile, your good there.. As for the date, heck ya! Find a decent chili dog and critique it for a minute or two with your date. If it goes on for 3 or so minutes, your still doing good. Also, discussions on unique toppings are acceptable. Avoid the mustard and ketchup deal... That could totally ruin the date.
