Almosr ready to open but a few questions Mon, 04/25/11 3:58 PM (permalink)
The trailer is down to its last few issues before calling for the h.d. inspection.

1) I have (2) full size 40# floor model Pitco fryolators so the drain is fairly low to the ground. Does anyone know where I can get filtering equipment in a package that is not a space wasting machine? I am talking  filter holder and properly sized pan.

2) My H.D. wants us to use public water supply or bottled water in the unit even though the water in the unit is purely for cleaning purposes and not drinking. I can use the Blue NSF 7 gal bottles but she wants us to use closing quick couplers to fill into the res. to provent contamination. How are most people getting water from the bottles or jugs into their fresh water tanks? I have a hose connection outside the trailer behind a locking door. If I use the 5 gal bottled water as water supply how do I get the water into my tank without the possibility of contamination? I really don't want to use the 5 gal bottled water because of cost - I will hold approx 28 gal with the water heater.

Use a cone filter, inexpensive and takes up no space.

I filter into a 5 gal stock pot.

What's wrong with public water supply?  Why would you buy bottled water?
Are you going to cook with any of the water?, wash fruits, veggies, anything edible? Going to wash dishes?......it all requires potable water.
Search for brass quick connect for your water inlet.
Male end will be on the trailer, female on a hose. We were required to use these by the hd in LA years ago.

Sorry to sound ignorant here but the end of my drain pipe when screwed into the ball valve is 9.75" from the floor. How would a 11" high stock pot fit under there with a cone filter on it?

Find one that fits. I used that as an example.

That Vivo thing is pretty cool. Something to think about for later.
I like the pot with the lid - if it was only a little shorter.
I ended up ordering a filter basket and a 26 quart sauce pan that it 14" dia. x 6 5/8" high. I will give it a try for now.

Thanks for the input on fry oil cleaning guys.

Any links for quick connects? I have done several searches and found nothing NSF that was not for big sizes. Havent found any that have shut-offs.
