Almost ready for business..... Tue, 05/7/13 9:39 PM (permalink)
Had my inspection today and passed. Just waiting on my city and state licenses and then I can hit the pavement. The wife and I are itching to get out there and sling some dogs! Any tips for our first day?

There are some who claim they put whatever the customer wants on their dog. I'd find that too stressful and way too slow if I were busy. There are a few that ask me to put their choices on and I do by request, but it is very few.

I have all the condiments in the squeeze containers from Sam's and I tell the customer to put whatever they want and mostly it is mustard and ketchup, yuck! The only thing I put on all the time if they want it is the Chili. But, like I've said a hundred times before, I can hardly give away Chili.

Always keep it simple I've learned in just the few months I've been slinging dogs. I enjoy the people, but I do admit it would be more ejoyable if more people here liked hot dogs.

I'm offering Pork Tamales again. I got rained out just about after I had set up but sold three of them and three dogs today in a little time.

Go have fun. It will be easy if the wife is there to help. I hope you make $100 at least for the first day. That would be great.

Best way to do that is to make a checklist and use it everytime you go out just so you don't forget something you will need.
Just like a pilot pre-flight list. use it everytime.

yep, I made a list for shopping in the store because I would always forget stuff. you have to think in three demensions. make a dog, serve a dog, package a dog.
