Al's Chicago Style Hot Dogs-Gilbert AZ Thu, 03/26/09 12:25 AM (permalink)
Al is from Chicago and came to AZ to take care of the Chitown expats who migrated to AZ and he's done a beautiful job of it. He serves the full assortment of Vienna dogs including skinless as well as casing dogs. He has a neat & clean store on the corner of Val Vista & Elliot in Gilbert, AZ.Some places just throw a dog and condiments togther--Al carefully assembles his condiments with the dog in a very artistic manner. In addition, he serves a Nice Itialian Beef Sandwich. Other Items on the menu include Hamburgers, Gyros and a large variety of Chicken Breast Sandwiches. His Fries are exceptional. I'm not sure if they're fresh potatoes or not but they sure taste like them. They're double fried: a quick  blanch and then fried again. Chrisp on the outside and soft on the inside, hot & fresh.
I had his Chicago style jumbo dog today and it was a work of art.  - A Jumbo 4/1 Skinless Vienna Dog steamed, (You can also get your dogs grilled) Fries and a drink for $5.81, tax inc'l. The fries were fresh & hot, All the traditional Chicage Condiments were artfully put together in a Vienna Poppy seed bun.  The whole experience was Quality.
Al is open 7 days a week. Mon-Sat 11AM to 9PM, Sun 11:30Am to 3PM. If you need a dog fix in the Phoenix area, Al's is the place.
