An Article About Keeping Your Restaurant Business Creative Thu, 06/2/11 11:45 AM (permalink)
I'm a blog writer for Entrust Cash Advance... we have a lot of helpful resources for restaurant owners like you all. I just wrote this article called "Three Creative Tips for Restaurant Owners" and I thought I'd share it with you guys. Let me know what you think.

Three Creative Tips for Restaurant Owners
When you’ve already made it past one of the most difficult phases in owning your own restaurant – starting it up – there are still challenges that every restaurant owner will face over time. While starting a restaurant can be an arduous process, maintaining momentum and expanding can be just as challenging. This is why it is important to incorporate creative ideas into your business strategy that will ensure that your restaurant business stays efficient and profitable, while being one of a kind.
1) Consider new trends in customer behavior
In this day and age, there are many food and diet-related trends that customers seek out on a menu. Among these include buzz-words such as “vegetarian,” “organic,” “low-calorie,” and “locally grown.” The point is – more and more customers want to know that they are able to go out to eat without sabotaging their health and their diet. While it can be costly to incorporate these kinds of options onto your menu, the good news is – you don’t have to revamp everything you cook. Simply include a few of these options so health-conscious customers or customers with particular dietary restrictions feel they have options on your menu. This will also cause them to remember your restaurant as one where they were able to eat out without going against their own dietary preferences.
2) Combine old and new marketing tactics
While the field of marketing is certainly not the same as it used to be, many traditional rules still apply. Restaurant owners already know how valuable of a marketing tool it can be to ensure that employees are friendly and personable with customers – it can keep them coming back for more and even bringing new customers to enjoy the friendly atmosphere. One strategy you as a restaurant owners can use in order to bring together this old technique with new forms of marketing is to try to acquire contact information from the people you know love your restaurant. In today’s technological age, having a customer’s email address or making sure they “like” your restaurant’s Facebook page is enough to allow you to use more accurate direct marketing strategies later on. Put a sticker on the window telling customers to find your restaurant on Yelp, Facebook, or Twitter, or better yet, include a business card along with the receipt. You could even ask customers to fill out a short survey including their email address (and maybe include mints or candy as a reward) along with the receipt – knowing their email will be invaluable for email marketing later on. Visit this link to learn more about using social media to promote your restaurant business.
3) Put a new spin on a traditional cuisine
There is a reason why “American Noveau” is becoming one of the more popular types of cuisine in this day and age – it takes much loved “American” fare and adds to it a modern, at times healthier twist. Being creative with traditional menu items is guaranteed to set you apart – especially if you can come up with those creative recipes yourself. Remember the important fact that when people go out to eat, they want to know that they are paying for something they couldn’t prepare on their own. So if you can take foods that you already know people love, and add a little personal zest by playing around with seasoning, sides, portion sizes, or adding new ingredients, you are on the right track to make your restaurant stand out from its competitors.
With the rise in information about eating well and keeping healthy, customers are becoming more wary of going out to eat at just any restaurant. This is why it is crucial for the success of your restaurant business to ensure that your restaurant is being creative, original, and keeping up to date with trends in customer behavior.

for the love of god can you explain to me why being the "blog writer for a check cashing bank" makes you an authority to come in and preach to a forum full of seasoned professionals on how to run a business???
even our noobs(myself included) have the sense to take advice from our pros? or at least pros in the biz....
what the hell does a check cashing bank have to do with anything?

of course i know, and you will probably never be back anyway.... all your doing is placing "tags" so you can reach wider and farther out into the world for your boss(the bank) spammers are getting desperate these days it seems like...
if im wrong tell me so........
