I'm (sadly) allergic to mussels, because they are soooo delicious I've tried 3 and a half times and WOE IS ME each time...  clams and oysters are just fine though. Whew!!

    Thanks Twin!

Teriyaki sauce is my new secret ingredient. You never know what I might slip some into??? Chili, soup, stew, BBQ, tacos... who knows.

Buffets use it on their lettice on the salad bar, to keep it green.
I find it to be a powerful laxitive so I pass on it...so to speak!

So that's what's causing my reaction like yours!!! I suspected it was something in the salad dressings. THANX! for the heads, (Of lettuce) up!

I remember the Accent craze because it seemed like for a few years, half the recipes in magazines contained it as an ingredient.  I don't remember my mom using it but my uncle mixed it in with the ground beef for his burgers as his "secret ingredient" and they were definitely better than the ones at our house.

I don't use straight MSG in cooking but do use some ingredients containing it like dried onion soup mix.

The "secret ingredient" I use most often is beer, which is a great seasoning for many dishes and baked goods.
