Baah Ben: I had an Internet accident the other day, and happened upon a web site that mentioned that Burger King restaurants actually have a button on the P.O.S. device labeled "Off the Broiler".

Seriously..They do accept "Off the broiler" requests..The only way I ever order them..If I'm at a BK - 5 times a year..it's a lot. The counter person just turns around to the "chef " and tells he or she I want one off the broiler...

They seem rather obsessed with putting that strange BBQ sauce on their new sandwiches. I am enjoying their print campaign for the tiny burgers, though. The daschund ad, especially.

I haven't eaten at a BK since I got offended by a couple of "The King" commercials.... I wonder sometimes where their advertising budget went bad, but I haven't suffered much by passing them by..... I did the same thing when Quizno's came out with their screaming radioactive furry creatures showed up in their ads.... Haven't suffered without them, as well... I also have followed up with letters to the CEOs of offending establishments...... And if I get patronizing coupons as an answer, I keep them in my pocket to hand out to panhandlers....

The counter person just turns around to the "chef " and tells he or she I want one off the broiler... That IS correct; they DO have an "off the broiler" request button ! Maybe not on all their registers, and maybe not at all their locations... but my sis always says "off the broiler" in the freehold nj area BK on Route 9, and they push a magic button... that BK seems to taste better than most of the others anyway, for some reason

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I happen to like the whopper better than the rest of the fast food burgers, except for a Wendy's triple a few times a year. JMHO
