Angus Burgers all the rage

Seems every Hamburger joint is advertising Angus Burgers. Tried a McDonalds Angus burger on those bakery buns that are square. I wasn't impressed. It was not my choice to stop at a McD's, but next time I would prefer a Big Mac. Actually, a Whopper from the King would be more my choice.

I'm with you , Doug. Don't see the big deal with all that Angus stuff; they give you a bigger burger, but a drier one, to.. Oops, I better go back to my Trip Report forum, just snuck over here for a minute...

I third the emotion. The Angus supply system has made out pretty good ($) on their marketing hype. I'm no visionary, however, I predict a short run. We all should learn how to choose the beef we want without blindly grabbing a higher priced item simply because it says "Angus".

I'd rather have places start pushing 100% chuck burgers.

Use to be able to get some of the best tasting burgers at a local pub. The young female cook only catered there. I asked her, about her secret to such a great tasting burg. She said, "I just use medium ground beef and salt & pepper, nothing else". Those Angus burgers are dry gaggers.

LOL. I bought some "certified" Angus ground beef the other day. Happened to have a pound of bacon around also. Not bad. Bacon fat rules.
