Annapolis MD

Mrs OC and I will be spending next Wednesday night  in Annapolis.  We haven't been there in years and don't remember the names of the places we ate.  We will be staying in the Town Dock/ Statehouse area.
Any suggestions?

It has been a couple of years, but I have enjoyed:

Carrol's Creek -- http://www.carrolscreek.com/ -- nice Sunday brunch or dinner, located right across the water from the Naval Academy

Mike's Crab House -- http://www.mikescrabhouse.com/ -- outside of town, actually in Riva, MD, for...crabs!

Last time I was in Annapolis, I stayed about a week, and ate at Galway Bay three times.  It was that good.  Best corned beef dinner and soda bread I ever had.  I don't recall exactly what else I had, but it was all great.

Everyone has to go to Chick and Ruth's Deli at least once.  There's some law that says you must.  Pretty good grilled sandwiches. I've enjoyed their rueben on a few occasions.

Galway bay has excellent fish and chips, and very good food overall.  As Glenn1234 said, everyone must go to Chick and Ruth's at least once.  Not sure if they still have their giant milkshake challenge.

Lewnes Steakhouse is well worth a visit and an easy walk from where you'll be.

Chris' Charcoal Pit has always been good, though it's a bit of a walk from State Circle, but not too horrible.

A coworker has said Pip's Hot Dogs is good, but I have never been, and can't vouch. It's down by the Dock area.

Boatyard Bar and Grill and Davis Pub in Eastport.  It's an easy walk.  Have a drink at Pussers on the harbor.  City Dock has good coffee.  On West St. there are several places, a decent Mexican and Ramshead pub among others.

No to Chick and Ruth's.  It's a colorful institution, but according to my nephew, a Naval Midshipman a few years ago, has a rep as dirty, cheap, and not-so-good.  He tried it a few times, despite that reputation.

Dr. L.M.  -  Is your nephew accustomed to dining at RoadFood types of places?   The reason I'm asking because sometimes I hear the word "dirty" from novice or non-roadfooders (people who think Ruby Tuesday's is fantastic)  when really what they are seeing is an old, dated place.   Many people see "dated", or even slightly falling apart, and their brain registers it as "dirty".    Chick & Ruth's is old and dated, and fairly cheap.  As for food, there are some misses.  In my opinion, their best bites are the grilled sandwiches, such as a Rueben.

    It's worth a try.

I'll second Mike's Crab House!  Especially this time of year, you can't beat a crab feast on the patio with a drink from the tiki bar!
