Another sausage on a stick idea!

Any thoughts on making skewers with sausage, onion and pepper chunks. Precooked sausage and par cooked veggies then battered and deep fried. Dipping sauce on the side. Does this sound doable? I am going to give it a shot this weekend, family as testers. I have also found sausage with the peppers and onions in the mix, sound good?

beerbatter, I want to know how it turned out!
I'm thinking fine dice the onions and peppers,slightly sautee, mix with the barely done sausage(Italian) together with an egg or two.
A nice simple tomato sauce for dipping.

Only sausage on a stick I've ever heard of...

While vacationing in Vermont a friend's cousin sent us to his favorite butcher. Told us that when his kids were very small the butcher would stick a lollipop in one end of a hot dog and give one to each kid. Kids didn't know what to do with it, but the Dad seemed to like it.

Back in the 90 's my parents lived down outside Cocoa Beach , Fla . Dad was retired from FDNY and fooled around selling sports collectibles at the local flea markets on weekends . A hobby more than a business .

Anyway , every time I went down to visit , we stopped at this one flea market on Rt. #1 north of Cape Canaveral .
The concession stand sold these pigs in a blanket that were the best I ever had . Pigs on a stick I think they were called . I did enquire at one time about a possible franchising , and they said it was just a local two person family operation and that they were flattered ,but not interested.

pigs are hotdogs, blankets are some type of bread covering...

Yes indeed the pigs were hot dogs and the blanket was a dough covering that had a slight taste of cinamon .
The overall taste was different than anything I have had before or since .
There are some fairs that sell similar ones , but I have to say that was the best .

Why not TRY using a stick, a dog, and just Pillsbury canned dough as an experiment, if that's something like what you're looking for, then go to a homemade dough and add some types of flavorings/spices???? Hey what do I know, just a thought, maybe even a useless one.
