That's a nice selection, and the glass bottles are appreciated. I remember Nehi orange. Is my favorite, the DP, the kind that's made with real sugar? A&W is good stuff. I hear they've changed 7-Up's formula to be more like Sprite, which is a sucky move if true.

Most of the rest of that stuff is unknown to my West Coast upbringing.

Speaking of West Coast, that cooler wouldn't fly out here without a nice selection of Jarritos.

Interesting, enginecapt, because the only place I've ever found Moxie was in San Francisco.

I have a steady customer fro CHICAGO, who flies into Baltimore twice a year, to visit his sister in Mt.Airy, he eats the takes every Moxie I have, with him.

We can now get Moxie at Bev Mo.  Interesting flavor.

I love Moxie... Think of a Root Beer with sort of a Listerine breath-Wash flavor. It is definitely an acquired taste... I got used to it when living in MASS.  and found it at Stater Brothers many times after coming home.  The diet version sucks, but the 'original' will grow on you if you will try it a couple of times.

Wow!! I haven't seen 7-UP in glass bottles forever. Been a while since I've seen R.C. Cola anywhere. I love all of the NEHI flavors. What is this Moxi, of which you speak? Heard of it but never seen it out west. Same with Cheerwine.   B.T.W. I didn't see Vernor's Ginger Ale in the mix.

As I said to my Fontucky Friend, Moxie is one of the really old soft-drink names  in New England. It is 'sorta' a root beer, but has a unique, almost medicinal taste. Lots of folks hate it !!!

Cheerwine is a cherry soda out of North Carolina. Quite sweet. We see it here in Louisville in many stores.  I do enjoy my Vernor's the Michigan based Ginger Ale company now owned by the Dr.Pepper Sweppes congomerate.

I tried Moxie on my recent trip to New England. My major impression of it was that all the taste sensation was at the back of my mouth; even when I brought the soda to the tip of my tongue, the flavor wasn't nearly as strong there as at the back of my tongue.

I believe the phrase, " You got Moxie", came from ones ability to down a whole bottle of it.

    Moxie is more like kerosene.

I couldn't believe that they made a diet version.

    Dave,

As usual with 'Chubby' there is a spark of truth to his comment. The phrase that implies a person who has the courage to face up to adverse conditions, has "MOXIE", did indeed come from the soft-drink name. However the comment about the'ability to down a whole bottle of it' is fiction.

MOXIE is one beverage that really seems to do better in a glass container than the newer plastic bottles. I did not care for the two-liter bottles as they seemed to flat very quickly.  And Yes, I tend to go thru a six-pack of cans at the same rate as I do most other soft-drinks.  "A 6-pack a day, keeps the Doctor in business" !!

Another Moxie fan here (and living in NH, while not popular, the stuff is ubiquitous.  Pretty much every grocery store and gas station has it...).  It does taste like medicine.  Tasty, tasty, medicine!

I like how the original poster has Boylan's, I drink that as well (Black Cherry, mostly)

Things that I don't see that I love, include Blenheim Ginger Ale (which I have to lug back from my trips to the SE), Vernors, and Bubble Up.  Other members of my family love Faygo, but I never got the love.

My partner's sister lives by Temecula, CA, and I love going there, since they have this place

    With quite the impressive assortment:

I'm only 60 miles from Temecula and didn't know about that place, and I have been known to pop by the casino a time or two. *cough*

Thanks for cluing me on the  store. Consider me there.

I have found that I do like the Cherry Dr Pepper a lot. It comes and goes on our local market shelves.

I used to love Mission Orange Soda in SoCal but the formula has changed over the years and it's not what I remember.

Mountain Dew is my Mixer of choice for use with Bourbon. I get the Kroger house brand version of the Dew.

I buy Vernor's when it is 3 12pks for $10 or $11. Normal market price here is $5.98 a 12pk, so the sale is a good one. I keep 4 or 5 12pks in inventory here, as I love the stuff. 2 Liters are 99 cents this week, but they go flat in a few hours, so I don't buy them.

Where does the V-8 fit in all of this?? Loved the Nehi's too, peach especially.  We have the orange, grape, pineapple and strawberry Crush flavors, not Nehi but it'll have to do.

    Rusty,
In a blind taste test I found that I could not tell Peach Nehi from Big-K Peach Soda, the Kroger-house-brand. I think it only comes in 2 liters (not cans) but I really can't tell them apart.

luckily, the local albertsons sells all the boylan, frostie, jones, stewarts, and 4 or 5 different rootbear brands in glass bottles for about $1.19 a bottle. the most expensive is dublins dr pepper. They also have had throwback pepsi and mountain dew for months in cans. We can also buy mexican coke and pepsi in 12 or 16 oz bottles 99 cents for 12 oz 1.29 for the 16 oz bottles in the local fiesta stores. crush brands in 12 oz bottles at walmart for $2.50 a six pack

I used to make faux margaritas with Mt Dew.

One can Mt Dew, one mini bottle tequila!  Good to go!
