Any one try Mystic Pizza? Mon, 08/14/06 12:27 PM (permalink)
My sister told me that she and her boyfriend Ross are going to Mystic Seaport next weekend. They were thinking of maybe trying the Msytic Pizza place, that they made the movie about just out of curiosity.Has anyone ever eaten there and if so what did you think of it?Is it even still in business?

I was in Mystic recently. It is still open, but has become somewhat of a tourist destination. I did not eat there, I was told that the food is pretty good. If you really want pizza or other italian food, then it might be worth the trip. However, if you want seafood/lobster, then I recommend you go to Abbotts Lobster in the rough.

I have eaten pizza at Mystic Pizza several times. At the bar, not in the dining room though.

Overall, decent pizza. Kinda touristy, but I have always gone in the fall/winter time when it was not so bad.

if you are there anyway, you can do worse than grabbing a slice and a beer. Probably not worth a detour though, unless you have grand illusions of Julia Roberts walking through the door...

It was okay...not great, not bad. You could do worse. If the fact it is "Mystic Pizza" is neat to you (it was to us) give it a shot!

It was just average- my kids liked it. Sea Swirl isn't too far away if you want some whole bellied clams and other fast food items.

Jessica and Ross love seafood,so i know they'll hit those places.I think they just want to try it
just for the heck of it.I love seafood too,but can't go with them as school has started up here in Texas. One of these days I'll have to go to Corpus Christi on a day trip and try Snoopy's which i have heard has really good seafood.

It was much better years ago before they started marketing the name and selling them frozen in the supermarkets.

We went a few years back. I'd say "pretty good" also---about a three out of five, but you can get dozens of better pies in a state like Connecticut for sure.

What the hell they are in Mystic anyway, give it a shot whats a slice going to cost? 2 bucks? Two very good spots in Mystic though are, for breakfast Kitchen Little and I do meen Little. Great spot. And there is a take out old style Dairy Queen building that serves seafood, the whole belly fried clams were exqusit, and I'm from Ipswich, eat in the car or plenty of picnic tables. A very nice aquarium in Mystic also. Chow Jim

I ate at Mystic Pizza and it was very good. Of course, most of the pizza on the East Coast is good!

That'd be the Sea Swirl, well worth checking out. Reviewed on this site.
