quote:Anybody ever ate at underwoods pit BBQ in Lawton,Oklahoma? As in the regional chain? If so, I've eaten at Underwood's in Lawton and Wichita Falls (both well over a decade ago). I thought most of their locations were closed by now. (Their former location in Dallas has long been occupied by Raymond's Pit Bar-B-Q: http://www.dallasfood.org/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=18. Can't remember what took over their Waco location.) Scott

I remember eating at one that used to be in Sherman, TX...it's a car lot now. As a kid, all I really remember was the cobbler and the serve yourself soft-serve ice cream machine! (visions of that scene in "The Klumps") I don't really remember the BBQ since we kids usually ate the fried chicken, but the smell was great. Also as teen in the Order of the Arrow, it seems we had the fried chicken at our banquets. I guess it was cheaper. I've evolved to focus almost entirely on the meat now....
