Anyone Remember "Satellite Burgerteria's"

We had at least two of these pre-fab hexagon pod-style burger restaurants in Grand Rapids MI in the mid 60's-mid 70's.

One in front of the old "Atlantic Mills" discount department store stadium and another in Walker, MI (Standale)across from the Vista Drive in theater.

There were 3 red & white hexagon shape sections bolted together and you walked along a cafeteria line with a tray grabbing pre wrapped burgers from a glass enclosed steam box and moved on to fries from under heat lamps and on to drinks & shakes and paying a cashier at the end of the line.

They had a counter rotating ball with spiles that lit up with neon that was supposed to resemble an orbiting sattelite.

I also remember one of these places in Plainwell, MI just east of US-131

Anyone else remember this place in their area

We never had anything like that here in Texas. I guess the concept just didn't last.

There were 3 operating in suburbs of the Grand Rapids area in the late 60's and early 70's located in Walker, Comstock Park and in Jenison as I remember in addition to one at the M-89 exit of US-131 in Plainwell, MI. 

The plainwell location was owned and operated by Schwarz's Restaurant in Kalamazoo on S. Westnedge.
