I just looked at the webpage for The Farm in Racine WI, and I'm amazed. An honest-to-goodness Red Barn in 2009, in everything but name. Will wonders never cease! Glad I found out about this before my scheduled drive up to Milwaukee later this month; I'm definitely going to make that short detour into Racine on the way home. I'll let y'all know what I find.

Interesting. I rarely get over to the Racine area but this might be a nice destination for a summer Saturday drive. Brad

There was one in Mt View, Calif. I'm pretty sure the Barn Buster came before the Big Mac.

There was a Red Barn near the Michigan State campus in East Lansing. All the fast food chains were represented but Big Barn was ahead of the curve in many ways: First with indoor seating. First with super-burgers (Big Barney and Barn Buster). First with salads. Somehow McDonald's next door (walk up service only, only regular hamburgers and cheeseburgers) got most of the business. I guess if people wanted to sit inside and have a big burger, they went to Elias Brothers, Home of the Big Boy. Burger King came in later with a poor location away from campus and a seating area and the Whopper and even they did better than BB (nowhere near as good as Mickey D).

OMG! I cant beleive I found this site..Hi all. My name is Danny and I live in Raleigh n.c.. I remember me and my dad would go to the red barn and get a superb hamburger for about 15cents...It was located on wake forest road, I truly beleive it was on the corner of wakeforest rd and hodges st. Same barn building style but now it is a biscuitville breakfast joint. Should I take a picture and submit it for reveiw..would be awsome. Thanks all. Danny

I remeber a Red Barn out here in El Cerrito CA. Back in the late 60's. The building has been gone for quite some time now. How i wish they were still around, The best fried Chicken around an the biggest hamburgers around!!!!!!
