Anyone remember these-Cherry/Orange balls

Hi all
What a great forum this is......
Back in the 70's I used to buy these orange and cherry flavored round balls that were neither hard nor soft.....and they came in a little cloth bag. Much like the 3x4 organza style bags.
Anyone remember these?
In Indiana I used to buy them at the local Hooks drugstore.
What were these called? Who made them?
