If San Francisco did this, there'd be nobody to work in fast food joints. "Facial piercings" are near ubiquitous among the under-25 crowd.

What a farce. The health inspector wants people to believe that some chunk of metal fell out of a workers mouth, into a plate of food, un-noticed?! I find that hard to swallow. I think this guy's just got a personal problem with peircings. I mean he couldn't show documentation to back up a single claim! I personaly have never had an ear ring just fall out.

Now, when I managed an Ice cream shop I did have a standing rule NO FACIAL PIERCINGS and NO EAR RING FOR MEN, myself included. It has nothing to do health, but everything with IMAGE.

          portland , too
i work at a place here where lots of young hipsters do, and they put bandaids over their eyebrow ( or whatever)piercings to wait tables... it looks WORSE , i think, than having a pretty silver hoop in your eye... whatever.
as a manager,i had a middle age woman VIOLENTLY COMPLAIN at me because her "server" had tattos on her arms and they showed when she put her elderly mothers pancakes in front of her.....

ohhhhhh SHOWING your tattoo.. now that's foul.
          hehe
i counl'nt beleive it. i just smiled and said "i understood", while my co-worker (who's own several tattos were under clothing that morning) laughed and laughed and laughed in the back office!
          JEEEEEZ c'mom people.
To each his own.((((( as long as it's kept OUT of the macaroni salad, that is....))))

Enh, these kids today. I don't have any problem with servers who're pierced and tattooed (in fact, I expect it in lots of my favorite places), but I did see something really rank once...I was in a crowded bus next to a bunch of alterna-youngsters. This guy had a pin in his nose which was loose and kept falling off - he'd repeatedly pick it up, FROM THE FLOOR OF A BUS, and replace it in his nose. Gaaah!

With apologies to Willie Nelson: Mammas, don't let your babies grow up to be punksters!

Seems like it's a prerequisite for waitresses at the Dinosaur BBQ to have tattoos.

Well, I personally don't like all those piercings but as long as the people are clean I don't mind! The worst thing is a friend of mine who works in the kitchen at a local restaurant (and not fast food) told me two of the employees were bragging about who had gone the longest without a bath / shower --- one of them had been a month! This is true!
