Apple Pan In Los Angeles Wed, 03/23/05 12:44 PM (permalink)
The best thin patty burger I've ever had the pleasure of eating is at the Apple Pan on Pico in West LA. Housed in an old timey house on the corner of a very modern strip of Pico, this place has been here since the dark ages and never remodeled (thankfully). Counter seating only (and usually a long wait for a stool) but worth it!. The Hickory Burger is legendary, slathered in that terrific hickory BBQ sauce, crispy fresh lettuce and a big round of raw onion....what a delightul mess! Cokes served out of those old fashioned cone cups adds to the ambience. Only thing I don't get is the popularity of the Apple Pie...thought it was pretty terrible..
Miss this place so much...those visiting LA should go here first before even considering In N Out (which is good too, but not in this league).
