Applebees chili Sat, 08/21/04 10:33 PM (permalink)
Applebees restaurants used to have Chili on their menu. It was so good. Of course they took it off the menu. I just wonder how they make it. Anybody know?

I emailed Applebees asking them for the recipe. They said no. Then I asked if they were going to ever put it back on the menu, they said no. So I guess I will have to have chili somewhere else from now on.

It's ashame they didn't ask to if you'd still eat there, you'd could have said...."no".
I've never noticed chili on our Applebee's menu, I usually get the same ol' chicken fried chicken. But......just a thought did or do they have nachos with chili?

I believe Applebee's menu to be regionalized, if not localized.
Were they really that curt? I can understand them not giving you the recipe by E-mail. You could be chain X trying to scam the secret of their success. Do you have a restuarant request column in your local paper? We have one in Portland, and I grew up with one in KC.It sounds like there's some secret ingredient you crave that made it unique and tasty.

Went to Applebees once---the food wasnt bad and the place was clean---but the waitron training must have consisted of telling them what to wear! Service was amaturish and slow and the food was WAY overpriced---arent they another General Foods Chain?--they are all to damn expensive! like Red Lobster,it reminded me of a place made for taking your prom date to dinner before the party! I have an aversion to any resteraunt that i find at freeway exit malls next to walmart. Anyway---i KNOW their chili cant touch the "Bowl of Red" at the Kitchen table down the road!
