PapaJoe8 I just saw part of a new Arbey's commercial. They were throwing burger patties in a trash can full of other burger patties. :~) Joe They've also got one that shows one of their workers, a greaser, slicking back his hair with one of those patties.

Thanks for the tip. While I'm not a huge fan of FF, I do like to occasionally indulge in it as a guilty pleasure*. I'll give the Arby's burger a try next time I have a FF craving! * and I'm not afraid to admit it ;)

Adjudicator...The word you used..Emulsified. Do you know anything about their beef coming in frozen in a compressed mass? Shaped and formed pieces? That it has to be "cooked" in a certain way so it can be sliced without falling apart in a lot of pieces? Is this why you are using the word emulsified? You did not come up with that word out of the clear blue. So, you obviously know more than a lot of us about this. I wish I could be more definitive about what I remember to be the case with Arby's. I actually visited several Arby's where students were working part time. I saw the frozen meat (that's how it comes in) and I seem to recall a manager explaining a special cooking process so as to avoid the meat falling apart? Maybe someone has worked for them and can explain? I am going to see if I can find out more.

It is NOT true that Arby's "roast beef" arrives at the restaurants in powdered form, from which it is reconstituted. http://www.snopes.com/food/ingredient/arbys.asp From the Arby's website, under "printable ingredients list" Roast Beef: Trimmed Boneless Beef Chunks (Minimum 70%) Combined With Chopped Beef For a Maximum of 12% Fat. Contains up to 9.0% of a Self-Basting Solution of Water, Salt, Sodium Phosphate. Sounds like it is 21% beef paste!

arby's roast beef product is basically the same stuff as buddig/hillshire farms/oscar meyer chopped-formed-compressed sandwich meat. yes, you can talk trash about it but all of you have probably eaten it before in it's many incarnations.....

roossy90 If its not a burger, then why do they call it a burger?.... (sssh--I like arbys also) they don't call it a burger. they call it a roastburger. it would be different if they called it a roast burger, or a roast beef burger, or a roasted beef burger..................

I had the blue cheese one yesterday, and I was pretty happy with it. The meat on the sandwich didn't have the soggy, slimy qualities that I normally find at Arby's. I don't know if they changed the meat or what, but it seemed to have a different cut like shaved meat

I occasionaly like Arby's, and a few of the menu items are pretty good. I tried the Bacon & Bleu Roastburger the other day and didn't like it at all. Something about the combination of the lettuce and roast beef and cheese just really seemed off to me. And it was incredibly messy.

I like Arbys occasionally. I tried the All American Roastburger about 3 weeks ago, and was unimpressed. I disliked the mayo-catsup dressing that made them EXACTLY like BK. I go places like Arby's to ESCAPE the fast food feel of McD's and BK, neither place I visit much, so for them to build an experience based on the Whopper, they lost any respect that I might have had for them in the past. I will make my own from now on, and run away from the dumbing down that they have been doing lately.
